Previously:

Tina sat in her car,listening to one radio station after another. Trying to build up enough courage to go inside and do what she was about to do. After hours of sitting in the car, she went to the door and knocked. Milli, the housekeeper let her in.

“Hey, Milli, are my parents home?”

“This is a surprise, they are in the living-room watching television, but I know they'll be happy to see you.”

Tina heads into the living room a little reluctantly because of what she was about to do. “hey, mom, dad”

“Hey, honey” her mom says “What brings you by?”

Tina kisses her parents and sits directly in the chair across from them. She folds her hands in her lap nervously and said. “mom, dad,i have something to tell you, I'm just going to come right out and say it before I lose my nerves.” Tina avoided looking at her mom and looks straight at her dad , as if they were the only people in the room Quietly she says, “Henry and I are separated, ...and ...I'm ...a lesbian.”

Her dad didn't move or show any reaction whatsoever, although she knew he had heard her.

“Dad, I'm in love with a woman...will you please say something?"

Her mother breathed out in a gust. “what?”

No one said anything for several moments. Her parents seemed as if they were waiting on her to elaborate, but she remained silent, wringing her hands.

Then her father spoke. “Why?”, he asked softly, so softly Tina almost missed the words, “are you trying to hurt us like this?... Why are you punishing us? Ever since you were a child,you always acted spoiled and immaturely. I ignored it,... then you met Henry,... a good man” , her dad's voice was getting louder... “a man who loves you, he gave you a home and soon a family” he paused and looked at his wife, as if he needed her to support what he was saying, but she wasn't looking at him, she was looking at the floor .He continued. And because you're bored you want to throw all that away for some ...some notion that you're gay?”...He got up and walked over to Tina, he opened his mouth to say something to her, but no words came out. He looked at her with sad eyes and then left the room.
