Tina put the phone down and walked through to the garden - Bette was sitting on the edge of the decking looking across the garden - she was still wearing her running kit. Tina sat down

“Why don’t you have a bath ?”

“I should - its going to hurt tomorrow isn’t it ?”

“Well you ran twice the distance you usually do - I would say that you might need a massage tomorrow even before you can get out of bed “

Bette chuckled and taking Tina’s hand she kissed it

“I know that - is that why you did it ?”

“No - I had a lot on my mind “

Bette kissed Tina and stood up “Lets go into the house - I need a drink “

Tina followed her inside - Bette got a beer from the fridge and offered it to Tina

They walked through to sitting room - Bette sat down and Tina joined her. Bette opened the bottle and took a long satisfying drink

“I want to be angry with her - I want to yell at her and ask her why she wasn’t there to tell me the facts of life or to explain things to me when my periods started - or why she wasn’t there for me to talk over how I felt about knowing that I was gay “ Bette had tears in her eyes “ It was so hard Tina “

Tina took the beer bottle out of Bette’s hand and pulled her close

Bette rested her head on Tina’s shoulder and started crying.

Bette sobbed as Tina held her close - she really appreciated that Tina was always there to catch her when life caused her to stumble. Tina stroked Bette’s hair and rubbed her back.

Slowly Bette calmed down and finally pulled back

“You okay ?”

“Its just been a lot to take in “

“I know that “ Tina said “Why don’t you go in the bath ?”

“Yeah - I think I need one “

They kissed for a few seconds before Bette headed into the bathroom. Tina got a couple of plates out and put them out ready for the arrival of their Chinese food. Ten minutes later the delivery man arrived and Tina paid for their food which was piping hot. She left the bags in the kitchen and went in to see how Bette was doing. The brunette was standing in their bedroom with a huge towel wrapped around her body - she was brushing her long wet hair. Bette walked around the bedroom and stood looking out of the window. Tina watched her - she knew it was inappropriate but she was fighting a rising desire for her lover. She loved Bette so much and what she longed to do was to take Bette into their bed and make her forget about everything other than what was happening between them on a purely physical level.

After a few minutes Tina walked across to her partner and put her arms around her waist and kissed the still wet flesh

“You taste soapy “ Tina said smiling

“Well don’t kiss me “

“Oh I couldn’t do that “ Tina said “ Because I love you very much and you have to be the hottest lesbian I know “

“You don’t know that many lesbians do you ?”

“You could just slip into bed and we can eat in here “ Tina said hoping that Bette would take her up on the offer

Bette smiled “That would be nice but I don’t think my mind would be on what you want it to be “

Tina raised an eyebrow

“You turning me down Porter ?”

“Just for now - I am sorry “

Tina grinned “ I will remind you of this moment when you are as horny as fuck and are trying to undress me before I am in the door - or when you are slightly drunk when we are out in a club and you are trying to get me down some dark alley so you can take me “

Bette grinned and kissed Tina on the lips “I will make it up to you “

Next morning they were awoken by a phone call at 8am

“Hello “ Bette said reaching for the phone

“Good morning Bette - how are you today ?”

“Hello Elizabeth - I am fine “

“I was wondering if you would like to join me for breakfast this morning ?”

Bette looked at Tina who was still asleep

“We are still in bed “

“Oh I am so sorry Bette - I thought from your phone call yesterday morning that you were early risers like me - I do beg your pardon “

“No its okay - Tina is still asleep - look why don’t I meet you at the beach and we can go for a walk together ?”

“Are you sure ?”

“Yes - Tina deserves a lie in this morning “

“Well that would be wonderful - what time and where would you like to meet up ?”

“Eh “ Bette sat up and tried to shake the sleep from her eyes “ How about in half an hour at the little beach café - I don’t know what its called but the building is bright yellow “

“Oh yes - I know the one you mean - there is a little hut next to it that sells sunglasses and beach balls “

“Yes - that’s the one “

“Okay - are you sure Tina won’t mind ?”

“Tina doesn’t mind - Tina might not even notice I am gone “

“Well thank you Bette - I will see you in half an hour “

“Okay - see you “

Bette put the phone down and lent closer to Tina and kissed her on the lips

“You don’t mind do you ?”

“No - of course not but can you let her know that we both like to stay in bed at weekends - and not just to sleep.”

“Sure - she just thought “

Tina opened her eyes “ She is desperate to make up for lost time and she wants to spend as much time as possible with you - getting to know her daughter “

“Probably “

“She probably doesn’t know how desperate you are to make up for lost time and get to know her - you have probably hundreds of new questions for her as well “

“You are pretty smart for someone who isn’t awake “

“I know - I am pretty much a all round amazing person “

“Do you want anything before I go ?”

“No thanks - tell her I said hello “

“You could come with me “

“I could but I think you are ready to see her on your own “

Tina took hold of Bette and kissed her passionately
