“I think the most important question is: Is she ugly?” Mark asked.
“That’s just it. The woman’s gorgeous. Just blond and beautiful! Not to mention she’s a renowned State Attorney.”
“Tsk tsk. I smell competition on the horizon,” Mark said.
“Cut her some slack, Markie,” Jin said, slightly annoyed with Mark continuously jeering her best friend, “Gen, I don’t think she’s competition. You and Bette have something special, or had something special. Anyway, it’s not too late to take back your decision.”
“I know, but it’s the right thing to do, at least for now. We still have to work together and I won’t be able to think clearly with her on my mind all the time. You know how I am, I get caught up in someone and I lose all focus.”
“I guess you have to just live with your decision, who’s to say that you and Bette won’t end up working things out, right?” Mark said.
Gen nodded in agreement, “I have a feeling that things are definitely going to get more complicated.”
