“I’ll get something to write on.” Alice was more than willing to exchange numbers with this cute girl. She left the table and headed toward the bar for paper and pen.
Alice, returning to the table asks. “So, how long you gonna’ be in LA?”
Jennifer, now plays with her hair as she flirts with Alice. “Just a few more days.”
“Here’s my number. Write down yours and maybe we can get together again before you leave.” Alice is becoming very interested now.
“I’d like that.” Jennifer seems interested as well.
Bette and Jennifer finish their meal and Jennifer goes to Alice’s table to say goodnight. Smiling at Alice, “Give me a call.” Jennifer invites the next move.
“OH, you bet.” Alice is so smooth, as Jennifer walks away.
Bette paid her bill and walks over to the table with Tina, Alice and Shane. “Tina, I will call you tomorrow. We all hope that you will join us in Louisiana. By the way guys we will be staying at Agnes’s house. I spoke with the attorney and he suggested we stay there.”
Tina just stares at Bette. She knows that Bette expects an answer and she hopes that she is prepared to give her one tomorrow. Bette says her goodbyes and leaves. Alice, Shane and Tina are left to discuss this amongst themselves.
“I for one cannot wait to get out of this city for a few days. What about you Shane?”
“Yeah, I could use a break.” Shane responds in kind.
“So Tina, what are you thinking. Are you going to join us on our little trip to the bayou?”
“Alice, I don’t know. That is a long time to be in the same place with Bette right now. We are just in the beginning of working on a friendship.”
“We are all going to be there. Shane and I will protect you.”
“Alice, she hardly needs protection from Bette.” Shane glares at her friend.
“Oh Tina, I didn’t mean it like that. You know what I mean. I just meant that if Bette tried to pressure you too much, well, we.....”
Alice had to stop talking because she was trying to regain the breath that Shane had just elbowed out of her.
“Alice, Bette is really trying to give me my space but, she wants more than I think I can give right now.”
“Tina if you don’t go, you will stop the progress that you two have made. You need to show Bette that you trust her with your emotions.” Looking at both Tina and Shane, “God that was really heavy wasn’t it. Besides, it will be fun. You remember fun, don’t you?
