Love and Affection Chapter 19

Bette was so swamped during the last few days before her trip with Tina, that she had almost forgot to leave early on Friday.  The Horowitz show was such a huge success and was being written up in the Union Trib as one of San Diego’s finest art Galleries in the State.  Bette Port is able to sell and impress the art community across the state.  This is was not a surprise to Bette, she worked hard and knew how to sell well and it was a good feeling that she was relinquishing some power to James.  She needed a bit of a break and take some needed time with Tina.  She was really nervous about meeting her family and for her to come out at the same time.  Bette felt that Tina should of told them separately, but this was how Tina wanted to do it, so..oh well.

“Hey James, I am outta here.  Shit, it’s about time..I am so beat.  Thanks so much for your hard work with the last show and you will get my statement on your profits for your sales.  I cannot believe a sell out and a possible new show too.”

“Bette, we did it together and well you taught me well.  I will see you soon.  I will email you info the next show and any other details I need a fine tuning on.  Thank you again for this opportunity.  Have a great weekend with Tina and good luck.”  James winked at Bette and gave her a quick hug.  He was so impressed with Bette and her change lately.  She has become calm and more able to let go of herself, so she can focus on her own personal happiness.  The gallery brought her career and stability, no doubt she loved it and she loved being with Tina more.  That is what James really liked to see Bette, able to love a person and not a painting.

“Bye James and you have a great weekend too.  You will have to come over for dinner sometime and Tina and I will make you dinner.”

“Sounds good, Bette, you are so happy.”

“I am.  I really am.  See you.”

“Bye.”

Bette went home fast and drove with some ease and excitement.  She packed a quick bag of clothes for the weekend and got her gear set.  She grabbed the painting for Tina and headed out.

“Tina?”

“Bette, sorry I am running a bit late.  I will be at my house in 15.”

“Ok, T, no worries I am heading there now.  See you soon babe.”

Tina was especially nervous about seeing her parents.  Had no idea what would happen nor did she know how to handle the whole situation.  Finally she reaches home and see that Bette has pulled up at the same time.

“Hey baby, so good to see your face.  We have finally wrapped for the early morning shoots.  Thank god, so sick and well literally tired from doing them.”  Tina winked at Bette, knowing that if she were single she would be sleeping at the set and not with the beautiful brunette every night.

“Well I have to say that I am glad I am one of the reasons you are tired, but also worried.  Babe, you look pooped.  You sure you want to go up there tonight?”  Tina met Bette at her steps and stroked her face.
