Bette at the soon after is doing the same. "Tina, look at me...uh uh uh...yes...loo" They look into each other and just know, that this is where home is, their need, their love, their lives.
Few hours after napping:
Tina stirs and strokes Bette's face. Pondering about this weekend and seeing her family. She had been able to have some time to see her parents separately when she was able to squeeze some time away from Bette. Mostly because her parents were coming to San Diego, most likely to check up on her to make sure she was eating and sleeping. Tina loved that her parents were supportive of her work and active life. She couldn't ask for better parents and her older brother being away in Indiana was hard for her, but they kept in touch through emails and phone calls. AJ, her brother was always there to cheer her on and she did the same for him. He didn't want to be the college person or what not. He liked doing construction and working out in the fires. AJ and Tina had a unique relationship and they just got a long. Nothing complicated, just an easy communication between the two. She assumed that her parents upbringing helped with that and was excited and scared for them to meet Bette. What if the tables changed and they were disappointed or didn't accept her lifestyle now? The thought was always there and she was ready to stand for what she believed in. Tina found the love of her life and soul mate, she never wanted to part from Bette ever.
"T, where are you?" Bette woke to Tina stroking her hair and with tears in her eyes.
"I am fine baby, just nervous and thinking about this weekend. I am just anxious." Bette whipped a stray tear away and pulled Tina in for a loving kiss.
"I am sure it will be great. From what you had told me, your parents are fairly liberal and so is your brother?" Bette too was nervous and like her family they were shocked and surprised, yet they came around. It was hard on other issues like being adopted to cope with than her sexuality. She too was hoping that it would be the same reaction. "Tina, have you thought about telling them without me and then me coming up?" Tina nodded. "I did and I want to do it at the same time, rather than just doing it separately. They will be fine." Tina didn't know if she was going to swallow her words or not. "Ok, T, how you want to do it and I will be there."
Bette and Tina had take out for dinner and discussed what their agendas were up to for the last two work days. "Bette, don't forget our game tomorrow night. With you on the team now, we are finally able to qualify for national cup for rec. Weird huh? Awesome, that rec is getting more pumped up for women's soccer!" Bette smiled and was excited that she liked soccer so much and Tina was gaining on her for more speed in swimming. It was great to have someone do the same things with you.
