“Happy sixty-fifth, my love, and happy anniversary,” Bette said, bending down to place a kiss on Tina’s forehead, “You sure you’re alright if it’s just you and me today?” Tina looked up and smiled softly. Bette snuggled down beside Tina on the deck chair beside the pool and wrapped her arms around Tina’s slim waist. “Did you get the mail in?” Tina asked, “I wanted to see if Angie wrote us from Australia.” Bette sat up and grabbed a stack of envelopes from the table beside them. Tina snuggled onto Bette as she flipped through the mail. “Oh, she did,” Bette said, pulling out a postcard with a picture of kangaroos standing in front of a glorious orange sunset. Tina sat up, excited at the prospect of hearing from her daughter. They lay back onto the deck chair, close to each other, as Bette put on her glasses and read the postcard out loud.
“Dearest Momma T and Momma B, I miss you both very much. Melbourne is amazing and I wish you could be here to take in the sights with us.
