“Why thank you...my mother’s parents used to live in England but came to the States when my mother was little. My grandmother had said that when she first laid eyes on me that I was a present sent from God and everything about me especially my skin could not be any more perfect”.Det Benson gabbled on.
Whilst Helena was concentrating on her curves although she was not particularly curvaceous her curves were so subtle something that made Helena want to see in the flesh preferably back at her own house.
There was an abrupt noise coming from the door, someone was trying to enter the interview room.Det.Benson hurriedly walked to the door to unslip the lock. There was Det.Lake standing there with a puzzled look upon his face, in one hand he had Det.Benson coffee and underneath his one arm was a bottle of water for Helena.
He entered back into the room and instantly knew there was a slight tension in the atmosphere. Helena sat to the side her head thrown over looking in the opposite direction of what himself and Det.Benson sat.
“Are you okay Helena?” Det.Lake spoke softly.
“I’m just dandy as you can tell; you wouldn’t happen to have a cigarette would you? I need to release some tension.” She replied all most some what uneasy. She shot a glance over to Olivia to see of there was some kind of indication as to what was going through her mind. But Olivia remained straight faced replying “Det.Lake will get you a cigarette if you are will to co-operate with us.” replied with her eyebrows arched to comprehend further communication from Helena.
“I will but I don’t want Det.Lake in the room that’s the deal and the only deal I will make with you”
“Det.Lake has to be here for legal reasons but I’m sure if I speak to the Lt.Morgan that he will ok it. As long as we get the evidence and proof we need to progress with this case.”
“I guess that’s my cue to go get that cigarette then.”Det.Lake stood up and made his way to the door to exit the room”. What is up with them to earlier they seemed like they couldn’t stand each other’s presence and know Miss Peabody wants to talk alone with her. I was only gone like half an hour forty-five minutes max. I just never understand a woman maybe that’s why my love lives a mess he pondered to himself.
“Look Olivia now he’s gone let’s say we get down to business, why are so determined that I talk to you. I mean you don’t really benefit in any way from me speaking out and giving my version of events.”
“It’s my job to deliver the best probable outcome and to bring forth the truth. And let justice take its course in court with all the possible evidence to present a fair trial. I think when Det.Lake returns we will wrap it up for tonight as I have a lot of paperwork to get through. Then tomorrow I will collect you and we can have a fresh approach at the case”.
“Oh ok, if you have a busy work load I guess tomorrow will be fine as I’m not going anywhere” Helena said smiling directly at Olivia but wishing her lips could be touching hers as the tension was mounting. Helena could only hope tomorrow Olivia would be much more relaxed and free from the stress, in which you could see building up in her face.
That night Helena lay in her cell wide awake these are the times that made her uneasy because the air was filled with silence. Olivia kept playing on her mind she did not know whether she felt the same way as she did. She didn’t care about the badge she just wanted to know what was inside of her soul. Helena sat up and moved out of the prison bed to find the cigarettes that Det.Lake gave to her earlier that evening. She lit up a cigarette and inhailed the smoke, exhaling the smoke caused Helena somewhat of pleasure.
