*Chapter 1*
Elizabeth Porter - Kennard, a mother to two and a wife was found today, two months after she went missing in London, England. Elizabeth, known as Bette to her friends and family had been in London to collect a piece of art to return it to LA as part of the new exhibition in the ‘Angelica Tina Lucas PK Gallery’, funded by the Helena Peabody foundation. Elizabeth went missing after she came back from the Gallery where the painting was previously stored. Today she was declared dead by British authorities, they identified her by her dental records.
It was believed by police that she was taken by activists that viewed the painting as ‘unnatural.’ This is not the first time a exhibition shown by Bette Porter has caused activists to take note. Her 2004 exhibition at the Californian Arts Centre ‘Provocations’ caused a storm with Mrs Porter-Kennard being arrested. I now cut to Ryan who is outside Porters house where her wife and two children are.
..........................
“Thanks Sharon. I am stood outside the home of Tina and Bette Porter Kennard, were Tina will be coming out with her children and Bette’s sister to address the media. Her she comes.”
Tina walks out of the house, her head hung. She is carrying her daughter Angelica who is 5 in one arm and holding the hand of her of her son Lucas who is 8 in the other. Kit is stood behind her ushering Tina out.
Tina reaches the front lawn where the media are all stood waiting for her.
Tina takes a deep breath and begins “Bette was a great woman, she was the love of my life and a great mother too her two children. She always fought for what she believed in and would never back down on a matter that was important to her. Objections, was a piece of art that Bette had always truly admired. For those of you that see it as unnatural, look closer and find its true meaning. For those that say Bette was foolish for wanting to put the piece up because it had such strong opposition, you are wrong. Bette wanted the piece in her gallery because it signified something great to her. Am I angry that Bette is gone … of course. She was the love of my life and mother of my children.
She meant the world to me and always will. Nothing Compares to how I feel about her. Bette died fighting for what she believed in. It is the idiots that see ‘Objection’ as unnatural who are foolish. Bette’s name will continue through her gallery. ‘Objection’ will show in the exhibition as expected and any opposition will be ignored.
Thank you very much for you time and your support. Bette was a great woman and deserved to be remembered as so.” Tina finished. Tears rolling down her check as she turned to leave she felt her son tug at her hand. She stopped and looked at the little boy who resembled Bette in so many ways.
“Yes Baby” Tina whispered to the little boy.
“Mommy can I say something about Mamma to the men please.” He smiled, his brown eyes filled with sadness.
