Dana was making dinner, but she was doing more thinking than anything. She really was hoping that Alice decided to come with her to the match this weekend. This was going to be big for Dana win or loose, she needed Alice there with her. She was brought out of her thoughts when her phone went off.

“Hello.”

“Hello Dana.”

“Mom to what do I owe this phone call?”

“I just wanted to make sure that you are going to be ready for this weekend.”

“I’m going to be as ready as I can be.”

“You know that's not good enough Dana, you have to 100%”

“I’ll try.”

“If you don’t win we both know why.”

“Look mom we’re not going there right now.”

“Okay fine, but the main reason I called was because you haven’t sent the extra ticket to me yet.”

“Mom I don’t know what I’m doing with that ticket just yet.”

“What do you mean?”

“I might be giving the ticket Alice.”

“I see, so you’re bumping me for her?”

“Not exactly I just really want her to be there that’s all.”

“That’s all huh, I’ve been at everyone of you matches and this how you repay me by giving my ticket away!”

“Alice has been at all of my matches to you know, it wouldn’t kill you to pay for a ticket mom.”

“I can’t believe this, Goodbye Dana.”

Sharon hung up the phone and didn’t even give Dana a chance to say goodbye. Alice had walked into the kitchen a few minutes before Sharon had hung up.

“Who was that?”

“My mom.”

“Oh.”

“Yea she wants the extra ticket I get but I was kind of saving it for you if you decide to go.”

“You should give her the ticket, I mean she already hates me why make it worst.”

“She may hate you Alice but she’s not going to get that ticket, if you go or not.

“Dana.”

“No Alice the only reason my mom even comes is because she gets the free tickets. If she really gave a damn she would have paid for the tickets.”

“I guess.”

“She would, she's  a stage mom as long as she got free tickets.”

“At least your mom paid you some attention.”

“Touché.”

Dana dropped the subject, she hated when Alice brought up her childhood. The way Lenore treated her was uncalled for. Famous or not she was still her child. But to Dana those experiences are what were going to make Alice a great mother. Alice isn’t going to want her child to go through what she did, so she’s to do everything in her power to be a great mother.

“Dinner look great Dane.”

“Thanks dig in.”

“Okay.”

Dinner was very quite, both women were lost in there own thoughts. They ate and cleaned up in complete silence.

“Al, I’m going to go back down to the club and hit a few rounds on the machine.”

“Okays, I need to call Helena and fill her in on everything?”

“Yea, that’s probably a good idea.”

“See you when you get back?”
