Dana went into the kitchen and gave Alice a kiss.

“Lucy you have some explaining to do.”

“Oh Ricky”

Both girls laughed.

“But seriously Al you do have some explaining to do.”

“About?”

“A particular writer that is going to be following me around this weekend.”

“So they told you?”

“Alice you don’t have to pull strings to get me publicity.”

“Hold on there cowgirl I did nothing of the sorts. I just found out today.”

“Really, I wonder who the writer will be.”

“That I can tell you, the president told John to pick the best writer to do the story, which is of course yours truly.”

Dana’s heart skipped a beat when she heard Alice was picked to be the writer.

“However, John thought and I agreed that it would be a conflict of interest if I wrote the story, beside I already know how wonderful you are anyway.

Dana blushed.

“So I get to pick a writer and supervise the whole thing.”

“Have you assigned a writer yet?”

“Not officially I have a writer in mind but I wanted to run it by you first, make sure you were comfortable.”

“Who did you have in mind?”

“Helena Peabody.”

“The foxy Brit, damn she can follow me around any day.”

“Dana!”

Alice lightly slapped Dana on the arm.

“No seriously she will be fine, does she know anything about tennis?”

“Yea, she does.”

“Alright cool.”

“I’m sure she wont get in the way actually I’ll tell her not to get in you way, she’ll understand.”

“Wait your not going to come with?”

“I didn’t think you would want me to, besides your going to have Helena, and about 5 million other people following you around I would be extra baggage.”

“So you can go but your choosing not to?”

“I really want to go; I don’t want to be away from you for three days. But I figured this is your big match and you probably wanted your space.”

Alice looked down at the floor not wanting to see Dana’s reaction. Dana took two fingers and put them under Alice’s chin and turned her head that Alice had no choice but to look at her.

“Alice this is going to be the biggest match of my life why wouldn’t I want you there?”

“That’s just it, it’s a big match and I figured you were hardly going to have time for me.”

“Big match or not I will always have time for you.”

“You say that now, your going to have a million thing to do.”

“I’m not say that I’m not going to have a lot to do but I want you there Alice. I really don’t think this is a matter of if I’m going to have time for you are not, now what is really wrong.”

Alice took a deep breath

“I’m scared Dana.”

“About what the baby?”

“No I’m afraid that is match is going to make or break us. Thing have been really great between us. I’m afraid if I don’t go the distance with hurt us and I’m afraid if I go I will hurt you.”

“I understand the distance part, but how would you hurt me?”

“Because I’m so used to always having you all to myself, and I’m going to be forced to share you with tons of people. Not to mention all the attractive women that are going to be hanging on you. I just don’t know how I’ll respond to that.”
