Alice buried her head deep into Dana’s shoulder. She wasn’t crying but she really felt like it.

“Didn’t go so well babe?”

“No, not really.”

“I’m sorry.”

“What is it with our mothers and hating everything we do?”

“I don’t know.”

“It’s like I’m 24 I can make my own choice responsible or not. I know she hates George but dammit this is my baby.”

“I know sweety I know.”

“Dinner should be done in 15 minuets if you want to go lie down on the bed and calm down.”

“No you know what I’m calling her back and giving her a piece of my mind.”

“Alice are you sure you want to do that?”

“Hey you’re not the only one who can stand up to their mother.”

“I never said you couldn’t.”

“Sorry.”

“Do you want me to leave you in here?”

“No stay, I’m putting it on speaker phone, feel free to put your two sense into it.”

“Um…yea I think I’ll just tend to my chicken stir fry.”

Alice called her mother’s phone again.

“Alice look I really don’t have time for this.”

“Well you need to make time.”

“You have to be kidding me Alice I can’t believe you even think this is up for disscusion.”

“It is and we ARE going to talk about it so you better make time.”

“Fine Alice.”

“Okay first I’m no longer with George and haven’t been for five months.”

“You expect me to believe that.”

“Obviously you haven’t tried to contact me. I don’t even live Philly anymore mom, I’m back in LA.”

“You are not.”

“Yes I am.”

“I know for a fact you’re not because you had no money to even get a place yet alone get a place in LA.”

“I’m staying with a friend.”

“No you mean the flavor of the month?”

“No mom I am staying with a friend.”

“Alice you’ve been gone for a while what friends could you possible have in LA.”

“Actually mother I have a very special friend in LA.”

“Oh god no Alice, tell me you are not staying with Fairbanks, you can’t possibly still have a thing for her. You know she doesn’t feel the same back. And you want to bring a child into the world?”

Alice looked at Dana pleaded to help her out.

“Well Lenore that’s were your wrong I do have a thing for Alice and we have a thing for each other, which makes her my girlfriend, and she is staying with me.”

“You’re kidding me?”

“What mom do you have to listen to us having sex in order to believe me?”

“ALICE, that was uncalled for.”

“No it really wasn’t no matter what I do, you never approve. I really want to have this baby even though it is Georges. When I found out I had this life growing inside of me, I got this rush. I never thought I would be the mother type, but now I can’t wait.”

“Despite how you feel inside Alice you are not ready to me a mother, you don’t have your own place to stay, you don’t have a job.”
