Disclaimer: I own nothing related to the show. If I did, I wouldn't have to beg to be able to pay my internet bill.
Author's Note: Sorry this took awhile to get out, guys. The weather's getting nice and I've been spending time outside. Also, this addiction I have to writing fanfic isn't always a great thing. I promise to get one of these updates out per week, but they probably won't be spaced evenly. But rest assured that sometime between midnight Sunday and midnight a week later, one will be posted. I'm doing this to try to keep a handle on my sanity, lol.
berna - thanks, and nope, not a clue as to what to do with Tasha. I dunno who to hook her up with!
cgw99 - aw, thanks hun!
belisimo - wow, thanks for coming out of the woodwork with a comment like that! Lol.
TwistedTales - haha, yeah, the boys are sweet in my head. And Alice with the condoms would just be typical of her!
sonny_gal - haha, yeah, it's a lot of writing...which is why I posted that little note above, lol. Glad seeing me post makes you happy, though. It makes me sleepy because after I post i think, "yay! I can finally take a nap!"
ACH21 - thanks! I'm not sure I made the boobie convo too good, but I tried.
Adelefiz - thanks hun, and it's gratifying to know that I'm not the only one I'm amusing with some of this stuff. lol.
luvthatErin - okay, I'm totally looking at the floor and blushing as I type this, which would explain any typos. Thanks so much babe, and I more than appreciate your insights and help with this thing. It's my baby, but you're helping me raise it or something equally creepy and weird. Not really though..hey, why are you running????!
Summary: Boobie talk, smothery talk, basketball, babysitting, pizza, nookie, etc. (By the way, this summary is entirely out of order. Read it anyway).

The next week was a whirlwind of activity for both of them. Howie stayed until Thursday afternoon, although he spent the majority of his time with Jason as opposed to Alice and Dana. Dana was a little hurt by this at first, but she understood, and after breakfast at the Planet the day after his party, she told him he could go wherever he wanted as long as he checked in every now and then. Alice just gave him an economy sized box of condoms and told him to have fun. Howie just blushed and smiled.
"I'm glad my mom kept him out of school for a year. It's bad enough that this is happening when he's nineteen, I'd be going crazy if he was any younger," Dana confided to Alice as her little brother left yet again for Jason's apartment on Tuesday. "Hey, be back before too long, okay? Tina's dropping Angelica off pretty soon if you want to see her," she called to him before he could get out the door."
"Okay. Is it all right if I bring Jason over? We can pick up dinner. How about Chinese?"
When they'd agreed, he bounded out the door more quickly than they'd ever seen him. "That reminds me...why'd your mom do that? He's like a year older than his class."
Dana shrugged. "She wanted him to have a jump start, I guess. She did the same thing with me. We were both home schooled for a year before she had us in an actual class. She taught us herself, and I guess it helped. By the time we started kindergarten we were reading books."
"That's...interesting. Was your mom a teacher?"
"Not really. I mean, she had the certification for it and everything, but my dad was already almost a partner before they got married. She had family money of her own, so I don't think she ever actually taught in a school or anything," Dana said thoughtfully. "I've never really asked her though, so she might have."
"That's pretty cool, that she taught you herself. I like learning these little things about you," Alice replied, nuzzling into Dana as they sat on the couch. "And stop worrying about him, he's fine. And I don't just mean the sex thing. He really seems to like this guy."
"Yeah," Dana agreed, and from there they talked about her appearance on the special for ESPN. "I have to make sure I'm cleared for it medically first...but they don't start shooting for awhile, so I should be okay. I don't want you worrying about it, all right?"
Alice drew back a little at the stern edge to Dana's tone in the last sentence. "I'm not; if your doctors say you're okay to do it, I think it's great. I love having you here all the time, but I know it's gotta be a little boring. Besides, this is a huge thing for you. I'd never try to tell you not to if you feel okay to do it."
"Yeah, you say that now, but you get a little weird sometimes. I know you're doing it because you care about me and everything, but you sort of freak out at little things," Dana said softly, trying to ease into the subject so as not to upset Alice.
"I know," Alice admitted. "I'm trying really hard not to, but I'm still...I dunno. I guess it's just weird for me. I mean, the last thing I want to do is be all clingy again, but I came so close to losing you..."
"I know that, sweetie, and I'm not saying I'm mad about it. I just don't want you driving yourself nuts, okay? You don't have to take care of me all the time, or watch out for me every single second of my life. You can't possibly do that anyway. You've got a job...hell, you've got two of them, and you've got a life outside this apartment. You have to. It can't just be taking care of me, okay?"
"I know," Alice whispered again.
"Look, I know there's a lot more to the whole thing, all right? I'm not saying we have to get into it right now, but there are some things I think we should talk about a little." Seeing the terrified expression on Alice's face, Dana kissed her softly. "Don't worry, it's nothing that bad. I love you and I love that you worry about me. I just do the same thing about you, and this whole nursemaid thing is something we need to talk about. Not that I don't appreciate it, but we just can't keep doing this the way we are. It's not good for either of us." Dana stopped and sighed heavily. "Okay, I'm supposed to go meet with Shane for lunch in a little bit."
"Yeah, I'm meeting Papi at the Planet to do the second part of the interview. You might get back before I do, so if Tina calls me to check I'll call and make sure you're here, okay?" Alice asked, trying to get her mind off the impending "talk." Dana usually didn't phrase things that way unless it was something important, so she was a little worried. She tried to calm herself down so as not to make a big deal out of it before she knew what was happening, but in the back of her mind the worry had already settled itself in, as crazy as she knew it was. "Hey Dana?" she asked as they both got their things together.
"Yeah?" Dana asked. She was feeling a little bad about the way she'd handled things earlier, but she knew that it was probably better to be direct. "You okay?"
"I'm fine, I just think maybe I should go over to the hospital after I interview with Papi...I, uh, kinda want to talk with my shrink if that's okay," Alice said haltingly.
"Al, you don't have to ask me, okay? If something's bothering you and you feel you need to talk it over with a professional, do it. That's not something you should ever need my opinion on." She stopped. "Hey, I wasn't trying to freak you out..."
"No, I know that. I just feel...well, I don't really know what I feel, but I think I need to talk to her before I talk to you. I've been sort of going over some really big things about my childhood with her lately and I'm a little bit out of it emotionally -"
"Shit.
