As Fran, Angie and I enjoyed the dinner, the house phone rang.
“Excuse me” I said as I stepped away from the table. “Hello”
“Mrs. Porter”
“Yes”
“This is Mrs. Thatcher, Angie’s teacher”
“Oh…..hello”
“I just wanted to find out what had happened to Angie’s assignment. I know she has always been very studious and has rarely fallen behind. That was why I was surprised when she said she didn’t have time to finish it”

It was weird the last couple of days not seeing your name on a story. Angie should have come clean with Bette, even about Tinas death. Doesn't really surprise me that Angie didn't finish her assignment. She was probably a little side tracked reading Tina's death certificate. Kind of hard to re-focus on your schoolwork when you have just read something like that. Mrs. Thatcher is a wonderful teacher to follow up with Bette in the evening. Most teacher's call during the day, while your at work & you can't get the scoop from your child. I hope Bette will hear Mrs. Thatcher out and then give Angelica the same courtesy. Fran being over for dinner may help to save Angelica from the wrath of Bette! PS.

Hey Chicki, Good to see you back and posting more of this inspirational tale. Getting over the loss of a lover, partner and soul mate is one of the hardest things to do. I think only the death of a child breaks your heart more. Finding someone to fill some of the empty space in your mind, soul and body is something special. Something to hang on with both hands. Something to shout about. Something to cherish and protoect. Something to savor and help you through the lonely nights and desperate days. Bette has found that something and someone in Fran. Now Angelica is beginning to open up and appreciate the benefits of having two parents is an awesome adventure. Unfortunately finding out about her mother's passing has been a life stopping moment. Now she needs to open up to her mother and tell Bette how she feels. The missed assessment is purely a symptom of this feeling of loss and betrayal. I wnat Bette to stay calm and talk things through with Angelica. Perhaps Fran can act as an intermediary and get these two to converse quickly and quietly. Whatever the ramifications I know that they will be steeped in reality. Thank you for this awesome adventure. Your Loyal Fan.

Finally....I reached the last chapter of this story, I mean not the last I hope, but the last one you posted. I posted my comments on all the other ones, not expecting you to read them but for my own sake. When I try to come to terms with something I read, I have to write it down to get it out of my system...wel anyway sorry for the rant here. I like reading stories that confront me with myself and where I can find some similarities with my own life. For instance the sentence: Drive carefully, it's something that I used to use very often untill someone said to me, hey I'm not a child you don't have to say that. I use the sentence now in my head and hope they arrive safely. I really hope Bette will not give Angie a hard time about what she just learned. She has to deal with this very carefully. I hope to find your next chapter very soon because reading all those chapters in a row left me with an addiction here. Thanks for making me feel the way I feel now. Btw. can I pass on the eggplant parmesan please, I'm not very fond of it...I'll just take a slice of garlic bread of you don't mind ;-).

I read this story in one piece and I must say you touched me deeply. i felt so heartbroken about Bette not wanting to go on with her life but I guess that's what happens when you truly love someone.
