Bette stood stirring the sauce as Tina chopped the vegetables for their dinner, her mind was wandering as she watched the small bubbles appearing around the circumference of her favourite stainless steel saucepan, the saucepan set she had paid a small fortune for.
“T…”
“Mmmm?”
“Why do people always assume that I can’t cook?”
Tina smiled to herself as she heard the familiar moment of insecurity that laced the sexy voice of her girlfriend, the familiar moments that she was the only one privy to.
“Bette, you are an amazing cook. When we first met you cooked all the time for us, and its only since I gave up work to ‘prepare my body’ for childbirth that I became the one who did all the cooking, people didn’t see that side of us babe.”
“Well, I know that, but why make that assumption, its really demoralising as a human to think that millions of people who watch this show, who don’t even know me personally, assume I have no culinary skills.”
“But Bette, that new story on the site called “Do you remember when…” it’s only on Chapter 7 and you’ve cooked three times already…”
“Yeah I suppose, do you think they’ll get the message that I can cook then?”
“Of course they will babe, and I love your cooking.” Tina whispers as she stands behind Bette, wrapping her arms around her waist, her nose nuzzling the soft fragrant skin on her neck.
“Do you T, you’re not just saying that are you?”
“Of course not. I love how you cook for me…”
“What’s your favourite meal I’ve cooked for you?”
“It just has to be the curry, you really are the Curry Master babe…”
Bette smiled at the reply, her mind now settled that her culinary skills need not be questioned, because at the end of the day, as long as they were happy in their little ‘Tibette’ world, did she really give a shit what other people thought, no... of course she didn’t.
“T…”
“Mmmm…”
“Did you just do, what I think you did?”
Tina turned, winking at her girlfriend with the familiar smirk as she walked from the kitchen.
