ALICE-  "Oh my God"

KIT-  "Tina"

SHANE-  "Tina wait"  (Shane runs to grab Tina but not before Tina administers a slap across Bette's face so wrought with fury, not of a woman but a mother scorned, that Bette literally loses her balance.  Tina grabs her and pushes her up against the door and starts slamming her up against it in short spurtsBette is stronger but is now weakened in Tina's arms, almost surrendering to her punishment)

TINA-  "You crazy bitchyou took my childMY child.  Why???  How could you do that to me?  To ME Bette" (She screams.)  "WHY????!!!"  (Shane grabs Tina from behind)

SHANE-  "Tina pleasestop"

TINA-  (Still yelling)  "Why?  Why?"  (Bette is shaking her head and crying and whimpering aloud.)

SHANE-  "Tina, please"  (Tina almost as a reflex throws her body weight back into Shane, which throws Shane a little far back but enough that she almost loses her balance.  Alice rushes up to Shane and stops her from trying to come between the former lovers, motioning her to move even farther back.  Shane now understands and complies.)

TINA-  (Regaining her hold on Bette but now grabbing her with both hands by her shirt and blazer and pushing her upwards on the wall)  "WHY???!!  WHY???!!!  ANSWER ME!!!!"

BETTE-  (Now whimpering her words)  "I, I love her so much"

TINA-  (Still yelling)  "NONODON'T"

BETTE-  (She let's out a cry of exasperation and angershe now yells and cries at the same time)  "You were going to take her away from me!  You weren't going to let me be in her life like the mother I wanted to be to her.  How could you!  After everything, after all that we've been through, after all those years, afteryou have no right to do thatyou can't.how could you???!!!!  You know how much I love herYOU KNOW thathow could you do that to meTO ME Tina 'WHY?  Why?'  That's the question I should be askingwhy Tina?  Why Tinawhy?  Why?  That's the question you've refused to answer all this timeWHY Tina?"  (As she says this she pushes Tina successfully away and Tina falters a bit as she walks backward.)

TINA-  "Why what?  You know I was going to let you share in her life and then you filed for sole custodyyou were going to take her away from me"

BETTE-  "No damitthat's not what I'm talking about"  (She's yelling)  "WHY Tina?that's the question for YOUWHY have you done this to us?  Why have you thrown everything away?  WHY?"  (She approaches Tina and grasps her, and facing herwith her voice staggering and tears flowing)  "I fought for you after I betrayed youI fought for you, I fought for usI never left you, I never stopped loving you, I never gave upI gave up on myself and lost myself and I almost lost us but I never for once stopped loving you, even when I doubted where we were going in our life togetherI fucked up but I never gave up...I foughtI fought for us Tina, for our child.  And then you gave up on everything we finally had again.  You gave up on our love, our life together.  You never even had the decency to look me in the eyes and say goodbye."  (Her voice cracks all over againand Tina's tears flow)  "You were my life, my love, my world and that child is now the only thing I have left in my life, the only meaning in my life, the only hope, the only oneshe is my life."

TINA-  (She's sobbing)  "NonoII"  (Bette shakes her head, lets go of Tina and turns running towards and then out the door.she runs outside into the rain that was pouring nowshe didn't know where to go, she just needed to run.  As she exited, Tina went after her yelling now...)  "NO."  (Tina ran after Bette and the others could do nothing but follow her.  They stood on the porch as Tina ran after Bette.  She caught up to her before she made it into the street and grabbed her from behind.  Bette pulled away as Tina aggressively hung on.  Bette pulled further and Tina grasped her from behind, by the arm, forcing Bette to turn, but as Bette turned quickly and intensely her arm accidentally struck Tina in the face causing her to fall.  The others started moving more quickly towards the pair.  Bette started running away from Tina but as her mind was processing the fact that she felt her arm hit Tina hard, in the second after she did it, she turned to find Tina falling on the ground.  Bette ran to her, fell on her knees and grasped her by the arms, though not lifting her.  Tina seemed unconscious.  Bette put her hands up to Tina's face and put her own face up against it, Bette's eyes darting left and right wanting desperately for Tina's eyes to open)          

BETTE-  "NOTinaTinaTT please"  (The others reach them now.  They all kneel on either side of the two women.  Kit's holding Tina's right hand, Alice was standing on the porch with Angelica, and Shane is kneeling near Tina's head as she faces them.  Bette put her hands under Tina's head, gently moving it as Shane was about to place her outer shirt under Tina's head.  Bette stopped and lifted her right hand from under Tina's headthere was blood on it, and it was getting washed off by the pouring rain.)  "Oh my GodnoTina"  (Shane looks at Bette and looks up at Alice.)

SHANE-  (Yelling to Alice)  "Al, call an ambulance.NOW"  (They hadn't notice the additional blood that stained a rock a couple of feet away now from Tina's head.  Suddenly, Tina's head begins to move and she starts to open her eyes.  Bette looks into them in shock )

BETTE-  "T?  Tina?"

TINA-  (Moving her lips and trying to speak, finally manages to utter a few words)  "Bette II love herandI love youI'm still"  (She struggles, stopping for a moment)

BETTE-  "Yes T, you're still what?  It's okyou're going to be okyou're still what?"

TINA-  (Motioning her head up and then back down as though struggling further, she searches Bette's eyes and then finds what she was looking for)  "I'm still in love with you"  (She utters that last word in the phrase in a way that almost doesn't end it.  Bette nods and the lump in her throat returns, sending her tears to join the still pouring rain.  And then, as they gazed into those orbs she knew so well, Tina smiles and closes her own eyes after finally ending that last word, in that last phrase that was so difficult for her to say all this time, so difficult to believe in anymore, so hard feel and so painful to regain.)

Bette is frozen over Tina, looking at her now closed eyes.  Shane, positioned above Tina's head, puts her hands on Bette's upper arms.

SHANE-  "Bette, Bette"

KIT-  "Shane get an umbrella to protect Tina."  (Kit then moves in to take Shane's place over Tina's head facing Bette, and she gently adjusts Tina's head.  She bends down to listen to her breathing.  She strokes her head.  Shane comes back out with Alice.  Alice had put Angelica down in her crib and she was sound asleep.)

ALICE-  "Oh my God."  (She kneels next to Shane and looks at Bette then at Kit who motions her to Bette.  Alice goes over to Bette and puts her arm around her.  Shane is covering Tina's upper body with the umbrella.)  "The ambulance is on the way.  Shane is she still bleeding?"

SHANE-  (Shane had put her hand under Tina's head and had held it there with a cloth that Alice brought out when they arrived.  She pulls it out now to look.)  "The bleeding doesn't look worse and there's not a lot of blood on here."
