I thought we could spend the evening together. PT2
Tina deepened the kiss, bringing her hand behind Bette's neck, pulling her closer, regardless of the fact their lips were currently coursing towards becoming bruised with the tell tale signs of intense passion, her urge was that she wanted Bette closer still. Their tongues began a dual for supremacy, only this was a battle that neither wanted to win, but both wanted to be part of.
Bette's hands remained wrapped around Tina, but their positioning altered its course and destination, her mind setting the journey south towards the roundness surrounded by the lycra that she had earlier admired, her fingers manipulating the surface, feeling the tight curving muscles beneath her hands.
With ragged breathing their lips parted, "Babe, don't forget we still have company, Shane's sat beside us!" Bette's tempered breathing a tell tale sign of how the intensity of their kiss was affecting her.
They both looked around at Shane, only to find an empty seat and no sign of their friend and confidant. Their eyes returned to each others, a small knowing smile of how their friend had upped and left without either of them noticing, they rested their foreheads against each other, eyes locked together, shallow breath emitting from slightly parted lips, their hearts pounding with anticipation of the intensity of the moment.
"How long were you standing behind me T?" Bette enquired - unsure of how much of her heart rending confession Tina had heard.
"It's Ok babe, I heard it all, every word, I listened to everything you said, and I am so sorry for making you feel all of those things, I know that I haven't been easy lately"
"But T, I should be spending more time with you and supporting you and being there for you, to support you emotionally, I shouldn't be working so many hours and we should be talking T, about everything that's going on, how we feel." Bette's rambling words were exposing her vulnerability, trying to voice all her thoughts about her own failings within the current deterioration in their relationship.
"Bette, baby, I haven't exactly been open to your attention or affection lately, and if we're being completely honest here, I'm sure that I haven't really wanted it either, and I uh don't know why that is," Tina moved her gaze downward, ashamed at her own admission, the reality of the evening's emotions finally settling into her mind and shaking her to the core.
The realisation that Bette had been near breaking point and the fact that she was the one who had put her there broke her heart. Her strong, dependable, ever loving and attentive partner and she had been pushing her away in a steady but gradual manner - her dismissive and inattentive behaviour had put Bette in a position of feeling like she was losing Tina.
"God Bette, I am so sorry for treating you the way I have, those things you said to Shane, I couldn't believe what I was hearing, is that really how you are feeling?" Tina looked back into Bette's eyes and noticed the unshed tears beginning to pool on her lower lids.
"T, its just that I just felt that. I couldn't reach you T, when I tried to talk to you, you just didn't want to know, and when I looked at you T," the tears made their escape, Bette's breath catching in her throat, "you would just look away. and when you did look at me your eyes. they looked so empty, it was killing me T, I just didn't know what to do, how to reach you." Bette's voice breaking with raw emotion, her arms tightened around Tina's waist, bringing her closer, burying her face into Tina's neck as the tears overtook her, she couldn't stop them now they had started, her hands grasping the material of Tina's jacket, in desperation of keeping Tina close, the wracking of her sobs being muffled by the closeness.
"Sshh, come on babe, its OK. I'm here now", Tina's own voice cracking with emotion, her hands moving through Bette's hair, she turned, kissing Bette on the side of her head, all the time trying to sooth the broken woman in her arms.
Tina just held Bette, knowing that at that very moment in time all she could do was hold her and let her emotions runs their course. "It's OK baby, I've got you, just let it all go, I'm here for you now."
The tears that Tina had been holding back had now begun their escape, the raw emotion and vulnerability that had overtaken Bette had rocked her to the core. Bette nearly always controlled her emotions and if they ever did spill over then it was always in private, tonight Tina had witnessed Bette revealing things to Shane that were usually only spoken in the confines of their own world of togetherness and that very fact of Bette voicing these thoughts to Shane was the overriding factor of how broken Bette must have been feeling.
After a short time the ragged sobs began to ease, "are you ok baby?" Tina's soothing voice, softly brushing against Bette's ear.
"Yeah, I think so," Bette's voice quiet, but now seeming calmer.
Tina moved her head back so that she could make eye contact.
"You know babe, all those things you said to Shane, there were some pretty amazing things in there too, and you sure know how to take a girls breath away with your words." Tina's mind recalling the words she had heard.
"Which things babe?" Bette was confused how her emotional outburst could possibly be amazing.
"Well, when you were telling Shane how much you loved me, how deeply you felt and also about how you watch me, I didn't realise you did that babe!" Tina's eyes were dancing with emotion.
Bette's face lit up, hearing Tina's reaction to her earlier confession, "I love just watching you, when your not aware of it at all, the way you move, and look at people in the eye when you speak to them, and your smile babe, its just something else, when I see you smiling, it lights my whole world up. And when that smile is directed at me, well, what can I say - you just make me melt baby."
"Bette, I really really love you." Tina pulled Bette in close, pressing their bodies close.
Bette felt the beginnings of the descent of her emotional state, her mind registering the closeness of the way she was being held by the love of her life. Tina's soothing words close to her ear were now being overridden by the feeling of the warm breath brushing against her sensitive skin.
Tina's fingers were still caressing and manipulating the back of Bette's neck, sending intense signals throughout her body, causing the descent of emotions to quickly turn on their head and transform them into desire coursing through her body.
Bette's lips were millimetres from the fine neck, her nose brushing against the blonde hair, breathing in the fresh scent, storing the moment in the memory bank of her mind.
"Baby, I need to show you how much I love you.."
