Bette rolled over for the hundredth time that night - the sandman was
not coming tonight and that note in her wallet was calling her.. When
she missed Tina the most over the years she would read it. Tina wrote
it to her not long after they had been together. Bette went and pulled
out the note and sat on the side of the bed, the moon giving enough
light to read. Not that she needed to read it - the words were burned
in her heart for eternity




From the moment our eyes first met it was as if I was
drawing breathe for the first time.
You touched my soul in places I did not know existed.
My heart opened completely for the first time in my life.
My first and only love.. my Bette..







Tears rolled down Bette's face, all the memories all the love.







Tina could not sleep she waited until she was certain that Jessie was
sound asleep and grabbed a big blanket and went to sit out in chilly
night air. Vermont always smelled so good; she loved it here, her
life.. Jessie, but seeing Bette reminded her that in many ways she had
simply been keeping herself busy trying not to think of her, about a
life lost. About losing their baby, the cheating with Candace those
were the painful memories but there were so many good ones. Making love
with Bette the first time, she was the first woman and Tina had not
known completely the meaning of making love until that moment with
Bette. Tina reached in her pocket and pulled out a note she had saved -
something Bette had written to her long ago..




I have so many feelings and thoughts
about you.
Today the sun was shining on my face
and I relaxed into the warmth of you.
Was it a daydream?
All I know is that your lips never felt softer, your face
radiating love to me.
My hands caressing your belly full of life to come,
our child.
I dream of a sweet life with you and our family. Laughter, birthdays
and tender nights together.
I love you baby..







Oh Bette if only this could have been enough for you...

Comments: What a beautiful story. How does one ever forget the first time they fell in love or the person they fell in love with. I too believe that there is only one soul mate and even though some events force you to move on....you never forget. All the wonderful memories come rushing back everytime you think of her, everytime you see her. Love, never forgets.
