That she had lost her, truly lost her.
"Baby?" She heard faintly behind her. She spun around, to find Tina sat on the floor, her back against the Land Rover, a wheel laid flat on the ground by her side.
"Oh My god!" She screamed. "Tina, Baby" She ran over to the stricken blonde, brushing her hair out of her face, noting the dried tear tracks on her flushed cheeks. "Baby are you ok?" She asked desperately looking for signs of injury.
Tina looked up, a small smile forming. "You came back?" she said "I can't believe you came back."
"Are you hurt?" Bette asked urgently. "Vual?" She shouted. I've found her."
Vual came running around the side of the truck, his medical box held tightly in his powerful hands.
"I'm not hurt." Tina re-assured them both. "I couldn't change the wheel" she said. She looked up at Bette, fresh tears forming in her eyes. "I was trying to catch you up, and I got a flat tyre." She explained taking a big gulp of air. "I couldn't let you leave like that Bette, IDidn'tI wanted to" Tina stopped, overcome with emotion.
Bette tenderly pulled Tina up to her feet, and wrapped her arms around her tightly, stroking her hair as she whispered to her soothingly.
"I will fix the tyre." Vual said, looking over to the girls. "Bette, why don't you take Tina to my car while I finish."
Bette nodded her thanks To Vual, before gently leading Tina toward the safety of the second Land Rover, and climbed in the back with her. Bette gently led her to the bench seat, before sitting down beside her, gently wiping her tears.
"I'm sorry" Tina began. Before being interrupted.
"No baby, I'm the one who should be apologising." Bette said forcefully. She shook her head angrily. "I behaved like a complete asshole. I am so sorry." Bette caressed Tina's cheek softly. "I know I don't deserve it, but please say you can forgive me" she whispered.
Tina ran her hand along the length of Bette's arm, her finger tips just barely touching the smooth skin. She stared deeply into the concerned chocolate brown eyes before her. "I forgive you baby" she confirmed gently. "I can't believe you came back for me."
Bette took Tina's hands in her own, holding them tightly. "I've neverI." Bette took a moment to collect her thoughts before trying again. "Tina," She began. "I have known many women in my life, but none of them have come close to making me feel the way you do." Bette said, trying to explain her fears to Tina. "I'm not used to this feeling, and it scares me. Bette swallowed painfully, "I love you, I want to be with you more that anything in the world, and..and it scares me. I took your not coming with me to the airport as a sign that maybe, you didn't feel the same, and I couldn't bare the thought of losing you now."
"Oh Bette!" Tina sighed. I couldn't bare to watch you leave, that's why I couldn't come with you" Tina said, pain etched on her face.
"What made you change your mind?" Bette asked curiously.
Tina released her hand from Bette's and pulled out Bette's hairclip from her breast pocket. "I found your note." She explained. "What made you turn round and come back?" She asked.
"Vual gave me your present!" Bette replied smiling. "Do you know how much I love you?" She asked, moving closer to Tina's lips.
"Enough to let me take you to the airport?" Tina asked breathlessly, her body responding to the brunettes close proximity.
Bette shook her head gently. "No T. I think it would be more fitting for us to say our goodbyes right here, don't you?"
Tina leaned in closer, their lips almost touching. She could feel Bette's warm breath against her lips. "Besides Vual is going to be a while yet so we can take our time" She whispered seductively, her lips capturing Bette's gently.
Bette closed her eyes, sinking into the kiss, her right hand resting at the back of Tina's head, bringing her in closer. She felt Tina's tongue gently flick against her top lip requesting entry, and willingly obliged, delighting in the feel of their tongues dancing together seductively.
Tina let out a moan, as she felt Bette's left hand move up her waist to caress her breast through the fabric of her shirt. They pulled apart reluctantly, their forheads touching as they both fought to bring both their emotions, and their breathing under control.
"So we're good?" Bette asked hesitantly.
"Baby, we are better than good" Tina replied lovingly. "Now why don't you bring your lips a little closer, and let me say goodbye properly"
