Tina sat anxiously in Alexs office as he gave her the pep talk he had prepared the night before.

Alex: Ok so when you see her what are you going to say?

Tina: Alex, I dont know.

Alex: What did we just go over?

Tina: OK, I will say. Hey Bette, Call her Bette not Ms. Porter because then it will make her feel akward...

Alex: Very good, continue.

Tina: Ugh! Thank you for inviting me back here.

Alex: Now pretend Im Bette.

Tina rolled her eyes as Alex did his best broadway diva impression.

Alex: So what did you think of the show?

Tina: Alex do we have to do this?

Alex: Yes now...What did you think of the show?

Tina: I loved it. YOU were incredable

Alex: Oh stop it.

Alex fanned his face and pretended to blush.

Tina: No really, I thought you were just...I dont know...perfect.

Alex: That was very good Tina. Heres what you are gonna do next...just lean in and brush a piece of hair out of her face. If she isnt wearing her hair up...oh that would really throw things off...hmmm....

Tina cut him off.

Tina: Alex arent we forgetting that Bette is straight. Remember her boyfriend...CHAD?

Alex: How could I forget him!!!

Tina: ALEX!! Focus!

Alex: Sorry.

Tina: Seriously, what am I gonna do?

Alex: Tina just be yourself. Tell her that you appreciae this opportuity. Mention that youre a writer ask her to go for a drink.

Tina: I dont think I can do that.

Alex: Just go with it. And remember I have my cell phone on and Im only 10 minuets away if you need me.

Tina sighed deeply.

Tina: OK then I guess I better go.

Alex: Come here...

Alex fixed a stray hair of Tinas. He gave her a quick glimpse and then two thumbs up.

Tina: Thanks...for everything.

Alex winked and swatted Tina on her ass.

Alex: Now get out of here, you have a curtain to catch!

Tina walked briskly up town trying desperately trying to forget that Bette Porter would be there. I am just going there to see a show she told herself. Yup, just to see a show. Tina had arrived at 47th street and Broadway. She took a deep breathe and headed into the box office. After picking up her ticket she quickly took her seat. Bette not only got her a free ticket, she got her a ticket in the 4th row! Center! The lights flickered and eventually dimmed. As the orchestra swelled so did Tinas heart. Suddenly from the darkness Tina heard the voice of an angel. She could make out a faint shadow from stage right and slowly the lights came up displaying a vision of perfection. As Tina sat there watching Bette work something clicked. She knew she always admired Bette professionally. She also knew that she admired her stunning beauty. But during the last song of Act II Tina realized she felt something more than adoration...what it was, Tina wasnt sure.

After the show Tina headed to the stage door where Bette had told her to go. She told the man in the black jacket why she was there and after calling down to the dressing rooms he escorted her down the steps. Tina had to blink several times as a reminder that this was really happening. She passed the stage manager, then the lighting director, a few actors and then before she knew it she was standing outside of a dressing room door labeled Drama Queen. A small smirk found its way onto Tinas lips.

The door flew open and Chad came running out in only a towel. Tinas grin turned upside down quickly.

Chad: Hey!! Mark, Bette is throwing a fit. Can you get her a poland spring before her head starts spinning.

A young man came running over with water in tow. He handed it to Chad who looked around frantically.

Chad: Here you give this to her. Im not going back in there!

Chad passed the water to Tina and took off toward another dressing room. Tina stood there frozen. Was she really supposed to just open that door and glide in there as if this wasnt a big deal?
