“Yeah, the girls are going out, but I begged off tonight,” Bette began. “It’s been a long week.”

“Am I keeping you up?” Bette suddenly became aware she might be interrupting Tina’s evening ritual. “I can let you go if you…”
“Bette… You’re not keeping me up.” Tina’s smile came through in her voice as she assured her it had been alright to call. “Are you…ready for bed?”
“No, not yet, I just walked in the door and called you,” Bette replied.
“Why don’t you settle into bed and…call me back…when you’re ready.”
